Special Election Certain
Valid Recall Signatures 807, well past the 755 need!

By Ed Waggener

It hasn't been a strong showing for the tax recall petition, but it now appears it has been sufficient and that it will be certified by Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair.

Deputy Clerk Melissa Fletcher said at 6:24pmCT, Tuesday night, November 3, 2009, that the the number of validated signatures is 807, 52 more than required for certification.

The 807 came with validation of signatures for 14 precincts.

The Adair County School Board, at its October 29, 2009, meeting, voted unanimously to put the matter to a vote if the recall petition should prove successful.

The board members have promised a vigorous campaign on behalf of the school kids of Adair County.
