Remembering Kathy Grant: A true friend

Kathy Jean Gaskins Grant, 55

Diana Long has write a poem, in memory of Kathy Grant, "An angel," she says, "who has earned her wings."

The full tribute follows

Written in memory of Kathy Grant: A true friendby Diana Long
My heart is heavy
As I sit here today
For I know my friend
Has gone away

An angel flew in
And stood by your side
She gave you your wings
And said its time to fly

A broken heart
Is hard to mend
But the memories I have
Will never end

As friends we have shared
Lots of laughter and tears
Our friendship has lasted
For many years

There will be times
When I will grieve for a while
But I know you live on
I will see it in Camerons smile

Our journey together
Has come to an end
Today I bid
Farewell my friend

In time my broken heart will mend
Heaven has a new angel now
I called her "friend"

You've earned your wings
My friend
Now its time for you to fly
I cant stop the tears
As I say goodbye

Fly away, now, angel
Its time to go
When you look back
I'll be watching
From the end of the road
