The Arts at ACHS: Designing Monsters Click on headline for full story, including list of students + photos By Ellen Zornes, AC Schools District Coordinator, A.C.T.I.O.N Generations A whole class full of Halloween monsters was on the loose at Adair County Elementary School (ACES) this morning. Ms. Debra Wimmer's Adair County High School (ACHS) advanced art students partnered with one of Ms. Paula Bault's ACES fourth grade art classes for a 'haunting' hands on learning experience about the concepts of design. First, the ACES art students drew a picture of a monster that they then discussed with an ACHS art student who became their partner. This was followed by the ACHS students doing a fitting to make a form for the Halloween costume. After the costumes were finished, the partnership culminated on the design runway (well, Ms. Lisa Godsey's classroom) where the fourth grade class, teachers and several parents lined the runway to watch the show. Each ACHS art student provided a written design description explaining the monster that was read by Ms. Missy Garmon as each monster took his/her place on the runway. ACHS students: Teayra Ball, Bethany Bault, Mega Burton, Bradley Byrd, Maranda Carter, Nick Coffey, Matthew Collins, Natalie Curry, Nicholas Flener, Kallie Gentry, Tyler Giles, Mark Harmon, Molly Keen, Thomas Krissy, Ashton Lee, Joy McAlpine, Samantha Phipps, Cody Sneed, Alex Vance, Megan Waddle, Ethan Wooldridge, and Bradley Young. ACES students: Allen Abrell, Kayla Absher, Kendall Bennett, Courtnery Bernard, Charles Bonifer, Jonathan Croghan, Mandel Denton, Dylan Hancock, Sarah Hancock, Amber Hochstrasser, Caleigh Holmes, Ethan Mashburn, James Matheos, Gracie Rooks, Matthew Streeval, Dakota Turner, and Jenna Turner.
