Col. Wm Casey Elementary School, 220 Gen. John Adair DR, Columbia, KY

The Columbia Volunteer Fire Department visited Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School on Monday, October 19, 2009.

This is always a favorite day for students at the school. They get the opportunity to learn fire safety tips, see the specialized equipment worn by firefighters and of course see the fire truck.

This year was made even better through the team work of the Columbia firefighters and Campbellsville/Taylor County Asst. Chief, Bill Hall. Mr. Hall brought over the Fire Safety Education Unit from the neighboring county.

This unit allowed CWC students to practice fire safety tips for the home in a real life setting. In addition, Sparky the Fire Dog was on hand to encourage students to practice fire safety and teach others as well.

The students, faculty and staff at Col. Wm. Casey send out a huge thank you to all of the fire fighters and emergency workers for visiting and for all you do each day to keep us, our family and our friends safe. You make Adair County a better place to live.
