Ashley Goodin shot the low round for the Adair County High School golfers in the Regional Tournament, missing a state tournament opportunity by just one stroke. Ashley finished tied for 11th place out of 73 golfers.

Adair County shot a 383 finishing 7th out of 14 teams.There were 19 schools represented but only 14 schools fielded a full team. "Our goal was to finish in the top five," Coach Kim Goodin said, adding, "We all realized that Green Co. and Glasgow had posted low numbers all year. I am proud of our team and I'm sure every kid that played today feels like they could have played a little better but that's golf - even the pro's know how that feels."



Adair County was led by Ashley Goodin's 85 followed by Natalie Sneed 92, Emilee Roye 93, Natalie Curry 113, and Dea Brandon 114.

In region play, the top two teams and top four individuals that are not on one of the winner and runner-up teams go to the State Tournament.

Green Co. defeated Glasgow in a playoff that went to the second playoff hole. Green Co. shot a 334 and were led by Leah Judd's 80, Cassidy Scantland 81, Kate Larimore 82, Sydney Smith and Olivia Parrott shot 91's.

Glasgow had the Region individual winner Kylie Foushee with a 75 followed by Blair dennison's 82, Shannon Bishop 83, Taylor Phelps 94, Ashton Foushee 97. The top four individuals qualifying were Mallory Hendricks (Franklin Simpson) 78 and Mallory was also the individual runner-up in the Region.

The other three qualifying were Leslie VanEvery (Greenwood) 81, Morgan Elliot (Greenwood) 82, Sabrina Ferreri (Franklin Simpson) 84.

"I would like to thank you all for your support and coverage of girls' golf this season," Coach Goodin said. "I appreciate all the positive comments I get from people in the community who follow our season through newspaper, radio, and Columbia Magazine. I am already looking forward to next year and sharing our season with you all.

"I also want to wish Good luck to Van Giles and Coach Steve Burton at the State Tournament," Coach Goodin added. "We should all be proud and support them both on this exciting experience."
