Westlake Health Fair preliminary numbers above last year Even without all the numbers in yet, preliminary confirmed stats show Westlake Health Fair grew again in 2009 - despite the weather Click here for story on vendors, photo album from the Saturday, September 26, 2009 Health Fair. By Pauline B. Davenport, Director Special Projects & Marketing, Westlake Regional Hospital 801 Westlake DR, Columbia, KY Thanks to everybody who came out in the downpour to support the 2009 Westlake Health Fair. We're estimating approximately 1,200 to 1,300 came out, even in the rain. All the numbers aren't in yet, but we already know that there has been an increase over last year. Our best indicator is the number of blood draws. This year there were 3,221 vs. 3,105 in 2008. And this does not included blood draws at the schools and other locations, Doris Critz, Director of the Westake Medical Lab, said. When those numbers are added, the record will be even greater. The increase in attendance shows more people are interested in keeping healthcare costs down by staying well. The increase was also evident at the other Westlake Healthcare Team managed hospitals in Liberty and Greensburg, KY. From all of us at Westlake, Mr. Tungate, the board of trustees, the medical staff, and all the employees, thank you for your support. Pauline B. Davenport This story was posted on 2009-09-28 10:29:32
