ACHS splits with Russell, Cumberland; stumbles at Rosewood Freshman sensation Alex Durham turns in team-leading 39 Monday, September 21, 2009, at Lakewood Country Club; Charles Breeding leads Adair County in Saturday's Rosewood Invitational at Lebanon, KY. Special ColumbiaMagazine.com Sports report The Adair County High School Boys Golf posted a team score of 161 to best Cumberland County's (177) and fall to Russell County's (152), yesterday, Monday, September 21, 2009, at Lakewood Country Club in Russell Springs, KY. Freshman Alex Durham led the way for the tribe posting a score of 39. Colby Robertson (40) Van Giles (42) Charles Breeding (42) and Michael Waggener (43) rounded out the scoring."We did not play our best golf and it cost us." ACHS Coach Steve Burton said, adding this assessment, "You cannot beat a quality team like Russell County unless you are at your best; unfortunately," he said, "today we were not, The Indians now boast a 11-5 match play record after Monday's results. ACHS Boy's Golf Team stumbles at Rosewood Invitational The Boy's ACHS Golf Team turned in a lackluster effort at Rosewood Country Club in Lebanon, KY on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Still, the Tribe took 12th place in a strong 24 team field in Lebanon, Ky. Charles Breeding led the way with a 79. Colby Robertson (86) Michael Waggener (88) Van Giles (90) and Madison Brashear (92) rounded out the scoring for Adair County. The 4 man team score totaled a 343. "This wasn't the outcome we expected,"Coach Burton said. "It is very hard to play an entire season without some kind of letdown. However, I fully expect our team to bounce back come Regional time.
