Poetry by Sandy Coomer

The Riches of a Child's Love
There are diamond and jewels,
A pot of gold they say to be found.
At the end of every rainbow,
As it shines down to the ground.

With all the riches in the world.
Diamonds are forever they say.
But what does all this matter?
When our greatest riches are thrown away.

The great riches of love,
That is so often tossed aside.
Some because of fear,
Others from mere jealousy and pride.

There is the love of a child.
Love that is so sweet and pure.
Given with so much innocence,
But yet so much more life to indure.

Diamonds really are forever.
Just look into the eyes of a child.
You will see your greatest riches,
With the innocence running wild.

When a childs heart you embrace,
You will find your pot of gold.
It's the only riches in life,
That can never be bought or sold.

The greatest riches to ever be found,
Are sent to us from heaven above.
Just open your heart and cherish,
The riches of a child's love.-Sandy Coomer
