She was a member of a respected South Adair County family and of the Old Concord United Methodist Church. She had worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service for Betty Jane Spoon, 61, 5439 Fairplay Road, Fairplay Community, will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at 11:00amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQuearyFuneral Home, 200 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Sam Burris and Bro. Ralph Hadley the officiating clergy. Interment will be in McClister Cemetery, 4136 Fairplay RD, Columbia, KY in the Fairplay community of Adair Co., KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Friday, September 18, 2009, at the funeral home.



Betty Jane Spoon, Columbia, KY (November 23, 1947 - September 16, 2009)

Betty Jane Spoon, was born on November 23, 1947, was the daughter of the late Hugh Mackey and Delva May Bennett Spoon and passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 4:55pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center Columbia, KY, after an illness, at the age of 61 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

She was a member of Old Concord United Methodist Church and had worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, Ky. She is survived by the following:
  • One brother: Wendell Spoon, Fairplay, KY

  • One sister: Julie Hadley and husband Dallas of Fairplay, KY

  • Two sisters-in-law: Caroline Spoon and Emogene Spoon

  • And several nieces, nephews, a host of others relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by two brothers Junior Spoon and Ernest Spoon.
