Malvina Farkle day gives big boost to locker room reclamation

By Bobby D. Morrison

Lindsey Wilson College students helped make a big difference for the Adair County baseball team.

On their Marvina Finkle Day, they painted the old locker room in the back of the bus garage which is used by the Adair County High School baseball team.

Baseball Boosters and players have been working on it for three week cleaning, preparing to paint, etc. It had become the school systems junk/garbage room and was terrible, but the structure is good so we decided to reclaim it.

As Renovation Coordinator I put the women in charge and told the guys to do what they said. We cleaned with steel brushes, cleaners, etc., plastered the water damaged ceiling, sanded lockers, planned on plumbing repairs, etc. It will be really nice when we finish.

Of course the renovation includes much more. Hopefully, the Field of Dreams will get started before long, I talked to the plumber and Ricky Bault last night while they were deciding the route to bring the water line in for the sprinklers which I believe they plan to do soon.

They said they would do most work in September, but it may run into October.
