Rita Murrell was the lucky winner of the 42" High Definition Tv, the top prize in the 3rd Annual Wacky Quacky Duck Race, conducted by the Columbia Parks & Recreation Board.

Ms. Murrell's entrant, Duck No. 41, was the number two duck most of the race, but the lead duck hung momentarily when it missed the gate by less than one foot, and No. 41 came across to be netted by Charles Grimsley and verified by Donna Shirley. The time this year was 3 minutes, 35 seconds, according to the David Herbst.

There were 184 ducks in the race this year, down a bit from past years, race officials said.
