3-vehicle, chain reaction collision results in injury to one

By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

At approximately 5:10pmET/4:10pmCT, Tueday, August 25, 2009, an injury collision occurred 5 miles east of Campbellsville on KY 68. A 1995 Jeep being operated by Jacob Cisco, age 16, of Campbellsville was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive. Located behind the Cisco vehicle was a 2000 Dodge being operated by Larry Gilpin, age 56, of Campbellsville.

While waiting for the Cisco vehicle to turn, Gilpin was struck in the rear by a 1997 Chevy being operated Lois Lacy, unknown age, of Campbellsville. As a result of being struck the Gilpin vehicle, in a chain reaction, collided with the Cisco vehicle. Mr. Cisco and a passenger (Dalton Baker, age 15, of Campbellsville) were both belted and either was injured. Mr. Gilpin was belted and not injured and his passenger (Debra Gilpin, age 53, of Campbellsville) was not belted and not injured. As a result of the collision Mrs. Lacy was treated and released from Taylor Regional Hospital.
