Mr. Curry was a member of a prominent Absher community of Adair County family. He was a successful businessman in Columbia for over 30 years as the owner of Ernest Curry Plumbing. Mr. Curry is remembered as one of a kind individual, whose skills in his craft and in business were matched by his wit, and his eccentric humor

The Funeral service for Ernest Curry, 67, will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 200 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Hugh Withers the officiating clergy. Interment in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 102 Mt. Carmel Cemetery RD, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT, Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the funeral home.



Ernest Curry (April 14, 1942 - August 9, 2009)

Ernest Curry, age 67 years, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away at 12:03pmCT, Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Metcalfe County Health Care Center in Edmonton, KY after a long illness.

He was born April 14, 1942, the son of the late Russell and Lillie Allene Pike Curry of Adair Co. KY

Survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Lee Ann Wall and her husband Garry of Columbia, KY

  • Three sons: David Lynn Curry, Columbia, KY; Randy R. Curry and wife Sandy, Columbia, KY; and Terry A. Curry and wife Jennifer of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Billy Curry, Columbia, KY; and Donnie Curry, Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Dustin Brockman, Shelby Curry, and Austin Curry
Mr. Curry was a plumber and the owner of Ernest Curry Plumbing in Columbia, KY for over 30 years.
