The horseback rides are a reminder of what is available close to home, at the four Columbia, KY, area lakes - Green River Lake, Dale Hollow, Lake Cumberland, and Barren River Lake. Here are the details on the Lake Cumberland and Green River guided horseback rides. Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas, KY Guided rides are offered every day from 9am to 5pmCT. through Labor Day. During September, open on weekends only. The 45-minute rides, which include scenic views of the lake, cost $15. Reservations recommended. Call (270)-646-2151.The two parks offer guided trail rides during the summer months. Guests can enjoy a 45-minute ride while viewing forests, wildlife and lakes. Horseback rides are also offered at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Carter Caves State Resort Park, and at Kentucky Horse Park.
