Former Adair County Deputy Sheriff Michael Burton writes, "This is a letter to inform all media that I have officially filed my letter of intent as of July 1st 2009 with the Kentucky Registry Of Election to run for the Republican candidate for the office of Adair County Sheriff for the 2010 elections. 2010 Primary Election Filer No.207180. Thank you. Michael Burton"

The primary election is May 18, 2010. Primary election day in Kentucky is the first Tuesday after the third Monday in May. Polls are open 6:00am to 6:00pmCT on election day. Candidates required to run in the May 18, 2010 primary election have until 4:00pmCT, January 26, 2010, to file nomination papers.Adair County, KY, has no scheduled elections in 2009.
