Remembering the Bell at the LWC Administration Bldg. Martha Henry Berry spotted a significant part of Columbia and Lindsey Wilson History in the lower left photo showing Lindsey Wilson College's Administration Building when a bell topped the entrance. and wrote the comment below. See Cultural & Culinary foreces colide at Ol' Joe's B&B Que and Still misses the bell at LWC Administration Building; It was sold in scrap metal drive in World War IIThe bell was rung each time Lindsey Wilson won, at home or away By Martha Henry Berry One of the pictures from Joe Barbee's collection shows a picture of the Ad Building at LWC. Do you remember the bell on the porch roof? You can barely see it through the trees. It was donated to one of the scrap metal drives during WWII.The bell was rung for any worthwhile occasion, especially when LWC won a ball game. If the town heard the bell ringing we knew that LWC was the winner again at home or away! I still miss seeing and hearing that bell as it was a part of LWC of long ago. It was probably an original part of the building, put there when it was built. This story was posted on 2009-07-04 14:09:33
