By Greg Thomas, Adair Co. Emergency Management Director

The Adair County Dive Team pulled Jeffrey Greer's truck and boat from Green River Lake at Mt. Carmel Boat Ramp.

According to Greer, he had just gotten out of his truck when he heard a loud clicking noise and the truck started to roll backward, and he was almost hit by the open door.

Three Adair Co. Dive Team Members, Preston Gaskin, Allen Grimes, and Randy Maggard took part in the operation, which took place June 17, 2009.

The truck went about 25 feet into the water and it, along with the boat and trailer, were completely submerged.

The Adair County Dive team assisted a tow truck by hooking onto the tow hook on the front of the submerged truck and were able to pull everything out together.

The team also participated in a recent drowning incident at Site 1 on Green River Lake in Taylor County, responding to a mutual aid request from the Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue request.
