3rd Annual Dancing with Stars is June 6, 2009

Dancing partners are Dezirae Derman and Joey White, Dana Walker and Ben Burris, Sarah Thompson and Chaz Dunn, Ann-Marie Pike and Darren Pike, David and Debbie Nunery, Sir Erwin Lepiarczyk and Miss Glenda Butler, Sir Erwin Lepiarczyk and Miss Glenda Butler, Karen McAnelly and Bam Carney, Helen Kendrick and Randy Ussery.

Renaissance Columbia presents the 3rd Annual 'Dancing With The Stars' on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 7:00pmCT. It will be held at the Adair County Middle School gymnasium, 322 General John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY. Join us for a night of great fun and entertainment as 9 couples vie for bragging rights and the top prize of $1,000.



We are very excited to announce that we have a very special judge this year! One of this year's judges will be Miss Kentucky 2008 Emily Cox. Paige Hutchison of Columbia will be entertaining the crowd with songs from the 80s and the Tumble Towne Motivators will be performing. All money raised on concessions will go toward the Adair County Band's trip to The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.Dancing Contestants:
  • Dezirae Derman and Joey White: Dezirae is student at WKU and Joey is the owner of White Millworks in Columbia. They are a returning couple from 2008 and will be dancing a mixture of Jive, Lindy Hop, and Swing.

  • Dana Walker and Ben Burris: Dana is the Corporate Sales Manager for WAVE 92.7 and Big Dawg 99.9 radio. Ben is the manager of the historic Columbian Theater and a Youth Worker with the KY Dept of Juvenile Justice. They will be dancing the Mambo and would like to emphasize that they have NO dance experience prior to this competition.
  • Sarah Thompson and Chaz Dunn: Sarah is a student at ACHS, Chaz is employed at Movie Warehouse in Columbia and attends LWC. They are returning from last year and will be dancing to 'Car Wash'. Sarah will have serious competition from her Mom, Amy Thompson
  • Amy Thompson and Charles Grimsley: A returning couple from the very successful 2007 Dancing With The Stars where they were runners-up. Charles is the owner of Grimsley's Jewelry and Amy is employed at Edward Jones. They will be dancing to the Jive.
  • Ann-Marie Pike and Darren Pike: Darren and Ann-Marie are our first father-daughter team! They will be dancing the Tango to 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood'. Darren is a journalist employed at the Adair County Community Voice.
  • David and Debbie Nunery: The latest addition to our competition this Campbellsville couple have plenty of dance experience and have been dancing competitively for 2 years. Their dance of choice is Swing but they are going try something new with the Cha-Cha. David is an Attorney at Nunery and Bennett Law Office in Campbellsville and Debbie is a self-employed Court Reporter.
  • Sir Erwin Lepiarczyk and Miss Glenda Butler:Sir Erwin is returning for his second year with first time dancer and good friend Glenda Butler. They will performing the Polka.
  • Karen McAnelly and Bam Carney: State Representative Bam Carney and fellow Taylor County teacher Karen McAnelly are also first time dancers in Columbia. Bam will be representing the Adair County Band at the competition.When asked what he was most worried about for the night of DWTS he said "losing votes".
  • Helen Kendrick and Randy Ussery:Helen is a photographer and studio owner of Shutterbug Studios of Columbia. Randy is a computer specialist employed by Hi-Temp Graphics. They will be dancing the Salsa.
  • Instructor - Damon Hicks:Damon Hicks has spent countless hours instructing our dancers. Damon is the owner of Damon's CTA in Columbia which is among the area's finest cheerleading, tumbling and dance facility that currently instructs area school squads, all-star teams and individuals, from the sub-beginner level to advanced level, in all aspects of cheerleading, tumbling and dance.
    • Advanced tickets are on sale now at City Hall, 116 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. The cost is $5.00. Children under 5 years old are free. For more information call (270) 384-2501
