Cazalet named KCTCS Administrative Staff Employee of Year David Cazalet is Director of Public Relations for Somerset Community College and also operates an art studio located in the Carnegie Community Arts Center in Somerset, KY Click on headline for complete story plus photo From Somerset Community College, Somerset, KY Somerset Community College Director of Public Relations Dave Cazalet was honored as the Administrative Staff Employee of the Year by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) on Monday, May 18, at the KCTCS New Horizon's Conference in Louisville. Margo Hamm, a former SCC employee, who is now a faculty member at Maysville Community and Technical College, was named the Outstanding KCTCS Faculty Member of the Year. Angela Hens of Jefferson Community and Technical College was honored as the Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year. Each of the 16 KCTCS colleges nominates a faculty member, a staff member and an administrative staff member for the annual awards. SCC Professor Betty Peterson was the SCC nominee for Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year, while Debbie Richardson was chosen as the SCC Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year. "We are very proud that David was recognized as the Outstanding Administrative Staff Employee of the Year for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System," said Jo Marshall, the President and CEO of SCC. "I think the award reflects David's ability to inform the community about the good things that are happening at SCC and his volunteer work in the community helps to bring the community to the college." Cazalet has been employed at Somerset Community College since 1997. He became the director of public relations in 2000. Cazalet and his wife, Nancy, who is a fifth grade teacher at Oak Hill Elementary School, have four grown children and three grandchildren. Their oldest son, Patrick, is a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force stationed in Dayton, OH. He has a son, Brock, 13. Their youngest son, David, is a Staff Sergeant in the USAF stationed in Tacoma, Washington. Daughter, Katie Brinser, is a human resources administrator married to a Master Sergeant in the USAF. They are stationed in Tampa, Florida. The Brinsers have two daughters: Riley, 3, and Harper, 1. Son, Gregory, is a chef at Bread and Bagels in Bowling Green. KY, and a musician. Cazalet holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history from Tennessee Technological University and has done post-graduate work in history and creative writing.
