Litter in Downtown down; Stella de Oro daylillies up The Adair Co. Garden Club: Making a Difference in Downtown Click on headline for photo and story By Barbara Armitage I made the walk around the Square this morning enjoying a rare bit of sunshine and the Stella de Oro daylilies when I happened upon this piece of litter. Funny how something like this really sticks out when it's the only piece of litter in the flower beds. The ladies of the Adair County Garden Club who maintain the flower beds downtown have been reporting that they are finding less and less litter each week. We think that the pride in our town is growing and folks are enjoying the flowers. Is this really Kentucky's Best? We don't think so. We know that keeping Columbia and Adair County clean and healthy is important. Please remember to stash your trash in an appropriate manner. If you would like more information on the Adair County Garden Club contact Barbara Armitage at (270) 250-2979. The Garden Club meets the forth Thursday of each month at 1:00pmCT in various interesting locations. Be a part of the Adair County Garden Club and make a difference in Adair County. We are making our home a better place to live. This story was posted on 2009-05-08 10:17:42
