Seven o'clock prayer service

2009-05-07 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Bishop Gerald Reliford led a group of 12 who came out for the early morning National Day of Prayer service this morning. The numbers were suppressed by the rainy weather, but that didn't dampen the spirit of Bishop Reliford, who compared the number to "the number who started it all when it began." Quoting Ephesians 6:12, he noted that the numbers did not count when at least one is there to "stand in the gap." Rev. Reliford, pastor of New Life for the Nations, was joined in leading prayers by Bro. Terry White of the Columbia Christian Church and Rev. Lewis Haynes of Plum Point Baptist Church. Prayers were expressly delivered for local, state and national leaders. A second service is scheduled at the same location at noon today.
