Concerts for Columbia Parks and Recreation

Sneed Family on schedule for Concert in the Park
The Sneed Family, performing Gospel Music, will be the featured singers for the first Concert in the Park sponsored by the Columbia Parks and Recreation Board. Members of the group, above, are Jeff Sneed, Amanda Sneed, Pam Sneed, Caleb Cowan, Seth Sneed, and Jacob Sneed. The event is free. Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and relax to an evening of entertainment. Concert will be in the picnic pavilion in the City Park, inside the Adair County Fairgrounds, 413 Fairgrounds ST, Columbia, KY on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 7:00pmCT. The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation will be hosting "Concerts in the Park" this year. There will be a series of min-concerts at the City Park inside the Adair County Fairgrounds, 413 Fairgrounds ST, Columbia, KY. The first concert on May 16, 2009, will feature "The Sneed Family," from Glasgow, KY, with gospel music and selections from their tapes. Each month, there will be a different type of music. The schedule will be as follows, with each concert beginning at 7:00pmCT, except for the last concert, for which the time is to be announced:

  • Saturday, May 16, 2009. Gospel music. The Sneed Family
  • Saturday, June 20, 2009. Country music. The Wranglers
  • Saturday, July 18, 2009. Bluegrass music. Only By Grace
  • Saturday, August 15, 2009. Blues music. One Shot Johnny
  • Monday, September 7, 2009. Labor Day. Rock. Wichitaw
The concerts will be held under the pavilion and will be free. Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and relax to an evening of entertainment. For more information contact Charles Grimsley at (270) 384-5658.
