Camp Casey receives $2,000 gift from LWC Bonner Program

By Dana Harmon, Director, CCLC-Camp Casey

The 21st CCLC-Camp Casey After School Program at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary recently received a $2000 gift from the Bonner Leadership Program at Lindsey Wilson College as part of a Community Service Development Grant through the Bonner Foundation.

This grant was given to the school to assist with bringing educational programs and services to our students.

The Bonner Program is designed to transform not only the students who are directly supported by the program, but also the campus and community in which they serve and learn. The Bonner Foundation supports the community by channeling the energies of college students, faculty and staff to continue to improve and expand upon the quality and nature of services offered to the community.
"Our young people are a vital part of this community. We need to make their educational foundation as beneficial, special and memorable as possible. We feel the Camp Casey program is not only helping the young people of this community succeed socially and academically, but it is also propelling our college students in becoming actively and civically engaged in this community." -AMY THOMPSON-WELLS - Co-Director of the Bonner Leader Program at Lindsey Wilson College.
The LWC Bonner Program and the students who serve here in our school have become a most vital part of our everyday operation. Throughout the 5 years 21st CCLC-Camp Casey has been open, we have been blessed to have Bonner Leaders from LWC volunteering their time and service to provide opportunities for our students to learn and grow after school. On behalf of the students, parents and teachers we would like to thank the Bonner Leaders and Elise Luckey and Amy Thompson-Wells, Co-Directors of the Bonner Program for this most generous gift.

This is yet another way that Lindsey Wilson College is serving "Every Student-Every Day."
