Mother of CWB crash victim Shellena Smith pleads for action now

About: "Columbia KY Police investigate another Bloody Crossing crash"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

Yes! Something does need to be done before more families have to go through what I and my family are going through right now because of this accident.

My daughter is Shellena Smith, the young lady involved in the accident who was life-flighted to UK.

She is having the first of many surgeries to come because of this accident. She will never get over the injuries she sustained at this intersection, and will be forced to live with this for the rest of her life.

Please, I beg you to do something about this, regardless what must be done. Life is worth far more than anything in this world and does not carry a price. It is the responsibility of local officials to implement precautions and assure changes are made when it has been proven by numerous wrecks that something must be done to correct the problem in a well-known dangerous intersection.

Yet, it seems to be placed at the back of official priorities.

One life lost is too many and if the community does not stand strong and push something be done about this intersection, then too many lives will be lost, and/or forced to deal with lifelong injuries.

Please. I beg you, do something.

From my heart to yours, put yourselves in my place with your children and make a difference.

s/Shellene Davis
