Sheriff's Dept. makes moonshine arrest in S. Adair Co., KY

Sheriff Curry, Deputy McCloud seize still and six quarts of moonshine

Clinis Hadley of 451 Preston Hadley Road, Columbia, KY, in the Union Chapel area between Fairplay and Glensfork, KY, was arrested Monday 10:30amCT, Apriil 20, 2009.

He was charged with having an apparatus for unlawful manufacture of alchol beverage, 1st offense and possession alcohol in dry territory 1st. after Sheriff Ralph Currry and Deputy Bruce McCloud found a moonshine still in operation behind Mr. Hadley's home. The still and six quarts of moonshine were seized.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Suzanne Rogers holds two quart jars of moonshine taken in a raid at the home of Clinis Hadley, 451 Preston Hadley Road, this morning, Monday, April 20, 2009. The quart on the left has the amber color of bourbon, the one on the right has been flavored with grape, Ms. Rogers said. On the right, she has a jar of the moonshine in its purer, "white lightning," form. The center panel shows the still, bags of sugar and meal, and some of the whiskey confiscated by Sheriff Ralph Curry and Deputy Bruce McCloud.
