In team Future Problem Solving, both the Middle School and High School teams finished in the Top 10. As an added bonus, the ACMS Middle School--in their first ever qualification for State Finals--earned a bid to advance to the International Championships May 28-31, 2009, by finishing 3rd.

The ACHS Quick Recall team earned another first by finishing in 5th in Quick Recall. The team won its Sunday matches convincingly against Covington HS and Daviess County High School, then moved on to the Monday rounds with an impressive win against Region 7 Champions Louisville Ballard.

The team;s exit came down to the last question of the match against #3 team in the state Russell Independent from Ashland, KY, in a match that had the crowd on edge for the entire 100-question duration. ACHS Quick Recall starters are Todd Smith, Luke Maupin, Marty Miller, and Jake Leibeck.
