LWC to play first night home baseball game in program's history By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team plays a home night game for the first time in program history on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Blue Raiders' new field. The doubleheader, the first true home games of the season for the Blue Raiders, begins at 4:00pmCT as Lindsey Wilson welcomes Brescia (KY) University to the new field located adjacent to the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. "We're excited about our new home and about having the opportunity of playing home night games," Lindsey Wilson coach Mike Talley said. "It is an absolutely beautiful field and upon its completion will be one of the best in the NAIA." While the field is ready to go, there are a few cosmetic matters to attend to. The completion of the press box, concession stand and the baseball team's locker room and blacktopping the parking lot are still ongoing. Lindsey Wilson (4-7) returns home after playing five straight road games. The Blue Raiders used Metcalfe County High School in Edmonton, KY, for their home games this season. Brescia (11-5) has won six straight, including a doubleheader sweep of Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) University on Sunday. Raider Field is located at the end of Hanley Lane off Hughes Street off of East KY 80/Russell Road in Columbia, KY. This story was posted on 2009-03-10 17:33:44
