Parrott Avenue spruced up for spring City of Columbia Street Department crews removed a trash dump on the creekside of Parrott Avenue this week, eliminating a longtime eyesore and enhancing one of the prettiest areas of Columbia. The shoulder of the road has been built up, making the turn safer. Since annexation, the neighborhood has undergone a transformation, with a new sewer system and a newly paved, widened street, with private improvements matching the city projects. Parrott Avenue extends in a U from Danny Downey's store on the South to Williams' Furniture's Parrott Avenue store on the north. This story was posted on 2009-03-08 05:17:51
