Obituary: Estelle Marie Ford, 82

She was the matriarch of a large, respected Columbia family. She leaves 93 direct living descendants. Mrs. Ford was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church

Estelle Marie Ford, 82, a resident of Summit Manor Health & Rehab, Columbia, KY, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at 3:30pmCT at Summit Manor.

The funeral service will be Thursday, February 12, 2009, at 2:00pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2:00pmCT, Wednesday, February 11, 2009.



She was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Pearl Bell Corbin, the widow of Mitchell Ford, and a member of the Columbia Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Donnie and his wife Diane Ford; Ronald Ford, James and his wife Jessie Ford, and Gary and his wife Cindy Ford, all of Columbia, KY

  • Eight daughters: Mary Helm, Linda Hutchison, Janet Foster, Betty Greer, Lorena Smith, Shiela and her husband Barry White, Darlene Lawhorn, and Teresa Burton, all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Buck Corbin, Columbia, KY

  • And 24 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Billy Ford; four brothers, James, Olen, Roscoe and Raymond Corbin; and two sisters, Gladys Harmon and Lola Mae Reynolds.

PALLBEARERS: Grandchildren, Michael Burton, Anthony Burton, Stevie Foster, Mark Foster; Jeff Ford, Rodney Ford; Chris Helm, Josh Ford, Brandon Hunt, Troy Ford, Jason Ford; Jerry Ford, Jamie Ford, and Daniel Lawhorn.Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
