Poetry: Fishing from The Bank A somewhat pastoral narrative poem of conflict between gentle bank fisherman and appearance of bass boat piloted by the devil By Billy Joe Fudge Fishing From The Bank is written in memory of my great-uncle Coy Furkin. He was an old ridge runner who was born, raised, and lived on the northern fringes of the Great Wooded South. He became, through much practice, the greatest bank fisherman who ever lived. This reputation was reported by all who were ever graced with his presence on a Fishing From The Bank excursion. This story, embellished as it may be, was inspired by an experience on one of these historic treks to the far off reaches of one of his most secret haunts.
