Obituary: Bobby Gene Siler, 75

Mr. Siler, a Columbia, KY resident and a native of Arkansas, dies here; services and burial will be in Indiana. He was a retired concrete finisher who worked with Siler Concrete for many years

Bobby Gene Siler, 75 of Columbia, KY, formerly of Kokomo Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 3:40amCT, Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

Services will be 10:00am Monday, February 2, 2009 in Ellers Mortuary Webster Street, Chapel 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN with Reverend Curtis Southwood officiating. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery, Sharpsville, IN. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00pmCT, Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the mortuary.



He was born June 17, 1933 in Judsonia, AR, the son of the late William Siler and Neoma McKnight.

Bob married Ginger Cade, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by the following:
  • Two step-sons: Byron Townsend, Kokomo, IN, and Lawrence Truman, Logansport, IN

  • Three step-daughters: Jennifer Burris, Tish Burton, and Cindy Furkin, all of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Carl (wife-Marie) Siler, Searcy, AR; and Ralph (wife-Goldie) Siler of Greenwood, IN

  • Five sisters: Cartha Shrock and Velma Lowdermilk, both of Kokomo, IN; Carol (husband-Bob) Paul of Corinth MS; Linda (husband-Louis) Frazier and Anita (husband-Bob) Gatlin, all of Sharpsville, IN;

  • One sister-in-law: Jeannie Siler, Galveston, IN

  • And several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by one step-son and three brothers, Verneal, Jim and Bill Siler.

He was a concrete finisher for Siler Concrete for many years before retiring.
