Obituary: Zilpha Coomer, 84

Mrs. Coomer was a member of a respected Adair County family, a member of the Columbia Church of the Nazarene, and a long time cook at the Circle R Family Restaurant in Columbia, KY

Zilpha Coomer, 84, formerly of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at 5:42amCT, at the Hopkins Care & Rehab in Woodburn, KY.

She was the daughter of the late Joe and Lou Bell Coomer Crawhorn, the widow of Osco Coomer, a member of the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, and was a cook at the Circle R for over 20 years.



She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Randall and his wife Ester Coomer of Le Monte, CA; Michael Coomer of Tacoma, WA; and Dwight and his wife Connie Coomer, Bowling Green, KY

  • Three daughters: Peggy Coomer, Goodletsville, TN; Cathy Coomer, Bowling Green, KY; and Janice and her husband Marlin Ramage of Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Chris and hs wife Rebecca Loy, of Wichita, TX; Casondra and her husband Cody Hicks, Wiggins, MS; Matthew Coomer of Missoula, MT; and Emily and Levi Ramage, Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Joe Crawhorn, Shelbyville, KY; and Bruce Crawhorn, Chicago, IL
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Russell Crawhorn; and two sisters, Eva Crawhorn and Lovie Montgomery.

The funeral will be Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 11:00amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Lonny Karnes officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2:00pmCT, Friday, December 23, 2009.
