Obituary: Lewis Bryant, 69

Mr. Bryant was a highly respected businessman, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Freedom Separate Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for years

Lewis Bryant, 69, 6600 Russell Springs Road, Columbia, KY.passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his home.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro. Ronnie Campbell, the officiating clergy. Interment in the Freedom Cemetery. The family requests visitation after 4:00pmCT on Monday, January 19, 2009, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



He was born April 16, 1939, the son of the late Acy Wade and Carrie Burton Bryant of Adair County, KY.He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Bardin Bryant, on October 6, 2002

He is survived by the following:
  • Survived by two sons: Bro. James Lewis Bryant and wife Maria of Columbia, KY; Christopher Wade Bryant, Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Edwin Bryant and Kenneth Bryant, both of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Evelyn Watts of Dallas, TX

  • Two grandchildren: Shelby and Faythe Bryant
Mr. Bryant was a business man, operating the Bryant Brothers Saw Millin Columbia for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of theFreedom Separate Baptist Church, where he served as trustee for manyyears.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
