Wants action on KY 439/CWB before fatality occurs

Comment on Fourth crash at intersection of KY 439/CWB

Ed:

Is there a way you could encourage your readers to contact the KY Transportation Cabinet regarding this deadly intersection. I've reported it to one of Beshear's key contact people and they're reported it to the transportation cabinet.

I've emailed your article last night with pictures and the previous article you ran on another incident several months ago.

As we all know, persistence pays off. Personally, I will continue reporting until something is done. Someone is going to get killed. Thanks,

s/Barbara
Name and contact information on file

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Work is being done to change the situation. We've contacted Richard Lee Walker, Gov. Beshear's contact man in Adair County and learned that he has talked with KTC Secretary Joe Prather about the matter. Rep. Bam Carney has written that he is working on the matter, as are Mayor Pat Bell, (270) 384-2501; Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton (270) 384-4703, and Columbia Police Chief Mark Harris (270) 384-2501. Kentucky 15th District Senator Vernon McGaha's contact information is at Vernie McGaha. Most people we've talked to believe a stop light is necessary at the intersection. We don't have a complete list of contact numbers. If anyone can compile one, it would be appreciated.
