A Christmas Story: Audrey organizes Christmas

Especially for our Fay: At the Richards house, Grandmother is finally doing Hershey's correctly, after years of half-right efforts to do Christmas chocolate right. -EW

From Annette Richards

Our grandchildren have been enchanted with the Christmas tree ornaments that Aunt Stella Chelf Neagle gave to us in 1984 - the ones that you squeeze the cheeks to open the mouth to find a Hershey's Kiss.

Audrey and Casey were the first to get to these ornaments on Saturday when the Richards family arrived from Vine Grove. Audrey would go to the tree periodically to see if the ornaments had been refilled. I believe she even put some of her Kisses back into the ornaments, just to have the joy of "finding" them again.

Later in the day, Papa Jim decided to take Curtis, Casey and Audrey out to the golf course to hit balls and ride bikes.

Before they left, Audrey took me to the tree inform me of her wishes. My duties while she was away?
#1 - Refill Aunt Stella's ornaments, and
#2 - She thought I should also fill the Mail Box ornaments that Aunt Fay Waggener McKinley made for us . . . and would probably hold at least 2 Kisses.
She was right! We had been remiss all these years, leaving the mail boxes empty.

It is no longer a problem at this house.BRING ON THE CHOCOLATE!!
