Breeding AVFD, Metcalfe Fire units battle house fire

FAMILY NEEDS HELP IN AFTERMATH

Breeding AVFD, Metcalfe Co. VFD & North Metcalfe VFD respond to early morning structure fire. House and contents total loss. Family is in need of basic necessities at this time. List of sizes for family is included below

The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department along with the Metcalfe County Volunteer Fire Department and North Metcalfe Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 9656 Breeding Road (Metcalfe County), KY, HWY 533, Monday morning, December 22, 2008, at 7:51amCT.



The House was owned by Mr. Truman Jessie. The house was also currently being occupied by his wife and son. When Firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was nearly engulfed. A neighbor who was passing by noticed that the house was on fire and told the land owner.

The Metcalfe County VFD was then called, and soon after requested assistance from the Breeding AVFD and the North Metcalfe VFD. The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene at 7: 56amCT.

A total of around 30 firefighters were on the scene for 1.5 hours. The Breeding AVFD had a total of 10 Firefighters to respond. The Breeding AVFD took the following apparatuses to the call: Engine 1, Engine 3, Tanker 1, and Tanker 2.

Breeding AVFD is assisting Jessies to obtain basic necessities

The Breeding AVFD is assisting Mr. Truman Jessie in acquiring the basic necessities such as clothes, shoes, etc. The following are the sizes that Mr. Truman Jessie (owner father), Mike England (son) and Mrs. Truman, Wife - Mrs. Jessie. All donated items would greatly be appreciated.

Mr. Truman Jessie:
  • 32 X 32 Pants
  • Medium Shirt
  • Size 9 - 9 Shoe
Mike England:
  • 34 X 30 Pants
  • XL Shirt
  • Size 9 - 9 Shoe
Mrs. Jessie:
  • Women Size Pants: 14
  • Large Shirt
  • Size 9 Shoe

A list of clothing items needed is posted at Best Buys Clothes & More in Columbia, KY. If other stores post the list, please let us know. -CM

Site of Monday fire at the Truman Jessies on Breeding Road

Despite the efforts of three fire departments, from Breeding, Edmonton, and Center, KY, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Jessie was flattened by fire on Monday, December 22, 2008. The scene above is from Sunday morning, December 28. Anyone wishing to help the family can call (270) 670-7495. Funds are also being accedpted at HWY 61 Country Mart, Breeding, KY.
