Campbellsville U confers degrees on students from Adair

Graduates include Breanna Jean England Bolin, Emily Lauren Bishop, Adam Lee Cravens, Brandon Terald Goodin, and Kimberly Lynn Slaven

Students from Adair County were among the 137 receiving degrees in Winter Commencement exercises on Friday, December 13, 2008, at Ransdell Chapel on the campus of Campbellsville University.

Commencement speakers included Dr. Michael V. Carter, President of Campbellsville University, and the Dr. Bill Henard, pastor of Henard Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.

Adair County graduates include the following:

  • Breanna Jean England Bolin, Columbia, KY. Bachelor of Science
  • Emly Lauren Bishop, Greensburg, KY, received a Masters in Special Education. Ms. Bishop is the daughter of Debbie Murrary, Columbia, KY
  • Adam Lee Cravens, Columbia, KY. Bacheler of Science, Mass Communications, Cinema/Television
  • Brandon Terald Goodin, Columbia, KY. Bachelor of Science, Pastoral Ministries
  • Kimberley Lynn Slaven. Columbia, KY. Master of Arts in Special Education
Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, served as organist during the ceremony; Dr. David Morris, chair of the CU Board of Trustees, gave the invocation; Ying-Huei Ting, of Taiwan, and Eldia Carla Farias, of Brazil, the first two master of music in piano pedagogy recipients of CU, provided special music; Leah Noe Magers, president of the CU Alumni Association, installed the alumni; Dr. Jeanette Parker, assistant vice president for academic affairs and assistant professor of psychology, gave the benediction; and Clint Warf, a bachelor of music graduate from Greensburg, Ky., sang the alma mater.

The graduates who received degrees are as follows: 46 bachelor of science; 35 master of arts in special education; 17 bachelor of science in business administration; nine master of business administration; eight bachelor of arts; eight bachelor of social work; three bachelor of music; three master of arts in music; two master of theology; two master of science in counseling; two master of music in piano pedagogy; one master of music in church music; and one associate of science.
