PHOTO, Country Club Road Bridge

By Ed Waggener

Adair County CJE Ann Melton has received word from Kentucky Rural Highway Commissioner B.D. Wilson that Governor Steven Beshear has approved $94,500 in emergency road funds to replace the bridge on Country Club Road.

The Adair County Road Department has set out warning cones to reduce traffic on the span to one lane at a time use.

The bridge will be the fifth built since Judge Melton took office on January 1, 2006. Others replaced were at Grassy Springs, Short Creek, Creek Bend Road, and at the Janice Holt and Henry Giles House.

The new bridge will be built by the Adair County Road Department, as were the earlier bridges.
