Johnny Fudge cut Steve Hamilton's hair, then BJ Fudge's Comment after reading: Honors keep pouring in for Darren Ballou With accompanying photo. Click on all CM headlines for complete stories with photos, if any. To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I would like to congratulate Darren for his accomplishments past, present and future. Each time an Adair Countian makes it good we all share in that glitz and glory. I am sure that Adair County and Adair Countians will share in many more of his accomplishments now, and for generations to come. We are extremely proud of our young folks whether they excel in the public eye or whether they excel in the everyday lives of their families, friends and neighbors. Darrin, his team, and family are now role models that we all can look up to, share with, and cheer on. Congratulations are also in order for joining the Adair County NCAA Division I Hall of Fame. The names of Hamilton, Shearer, Randall, McQueary, and Bryant will now be joined by Ballou. I am sure his exploits will be woven into the legendary fabric of this group. I met Steve Hamilton in the early 60's on a Saturday Morning at the Hotel Barber Shop better known as Fudge's Barber Shop. Just to know that Johnny, who cut my hair had, also cut Steve Hamilton's hair made me feel almost like a celebrity. I don't remember much about it except that Steve Hamilton seemed to know everyone that worked there and many who came in the door. I also remember that he was playing for the New York Yankees at the time. s/Billy Joe Fudge This story was posted on 2008-11-24 11:10:15
