Over correction factor in Monroe County crash

An injury collision occurred on November 21, 2008 at approximately 2:15pmCT, on County House Roard in Monroe County.

Charles Carter, age 87, of Tompkinsville, was traveling eastbound in a blue 1992 GMC 4door on County House Road. The vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway, leaving the travel portion of the roadway.



The driver over corrected and the vehicle came back on to the roadway.

Carter lost control of his vehicle and as a result went in to a skid for approximately 220 feet. then dropped off the left side of the roadway, where the passenger side of the vehicle struck a telephone pole.

Carter was belted at the time of the collision.
