Obituary: Leroy Parson, 65

Mr. Parson was a member of a large, respected Gradyville family. He was a former employee of City Supply and a member of Old Concord UMC

Leroy Parson, 65, formerly of the Gradyville community, died Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 4:50pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center.The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 1:00pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Willard Parson officiating. Visitation will be after 4:00pmCT, Monday, November 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Tarter's Chapel Cemetery.



He was a son of the late Andy Clifton Parson, a former employee of City Supply, and a member of Old Concord United Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Wilson Parson, on December 21, 2007, and by a brother, Carl Parson.He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Reta and Dan Gentry, and Patsy and Mark Fudge, all of Columbia, KY

  • His mother: Ada Richard, Columbia, KY

  • Four brothers: Vernon, Clell, Willard, and Steve Parson, all of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Ruth Bell, Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Kourtney and Kallie Gentry, April Loy, and Johnathan Coffey

  • One great-grandchild: Taylor Burton

  • And several nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends Terry and Christine Patton.
