New LWC Internet videos each Wednesday at 5:00pmCT

Series now has five 8-minute shows available

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Topics ranging from the Age of Jackson to the state of mental-health care in Kentucky are featured in the first five episodes of Lindsey Wilson Conversations, a new Internet show produced by Lindsey Wilson College.

Each episode - which is about eight minutes long - features a member of the Lindsey Wilson faculty talking about their area of expertise or a current topic related to their area of expertise.



"We hope people will enjoy this weekly program," said Travis Smith of the Lindsey Wilson Public Relations Office, who produces Conversations. "Our goal is to offer a wide variety of topics that viewers will find relevant to current events. Lindsey Wilson has a very talented faculty, and this program is a great way to showcase them."

Lindsey Wilson Conversations can be viewed on the Lindsey Wilson Youtube channel or on the video link on the college's Web site. The address of the Lindsey Wilson Youtube channel is: www.youtube.com/LWCpublicrelations.

The program is also available to iPhone users.

Internet users can subscribe to Lindsey Wilson Conversations on the college's Youtube channel.

A new episode of Conversations is posted by 5:00pmCT each Wednesday during the school year. The next episode will be posted on October 22, 2008.

The first five episodes of Lindsey Wilson Conversations are:
  • Assistant Professor of Political Science Stefan Brooks analyzing this fall's presidential election
  • Professor of English Mark Dunphy explaining what makes Moby Dick is the greatest novel
  • Assistant Professor of Recreation, Tourism and Sport Management Tricia Day explaining shifts in American's leisure life
  • Assistant Professor of Counseling Martin Wesley discussing the state of mental health in Kentucky
  • and Assistant Professor of History Melinda Senters looking back on the Jacksonian era.
