Event starts at 2:00pmCTRegistration for Second Sunday events will begin at 1:30pmCT today Sunday, October 12, 2008. The event will kick off at 2:00p.m. with registration beginning at 1:30pmCT and taking place at both the Board of Education and Adair County Elementary School. First 200 to register get free T-Shirt!The first 200 people to register will receive a free Second Sunday T-shirt. Second Sunday is free and is open to the public. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and a parent/Guardian must sign the registration release form. National Eat with Your Family Day event followsAfterwards stay a little longer and join us for National Eat with Your Family Day sponsored by ACTION Generation. -KELLIE BONIFER

Second Sunday event: Getting ready

ZORNES were getting ready for the big Second Sunday biking and walking event this afternoon on Greensburg Road, with a truck load of supplies for the event and the Natonal Eat with Your Family event which follows at Adair County Elementary School. Registration for Second Sunday starts at 1:30pmCT; the event starts at 2:00pmCT. Eat with your Family starts at 5:00pmCT. Everyone is invited to attend. Second Sunday 2008: Walking to Jerusalem

ONE of the LARGEST GROUPS, if not the largest, to participate in the Second Sunday event now going on from Adair County Elementary School were these members of Worship & Wellness Walkers of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. They include, front, kneeling, Pam Jones; first row, from left, Julie Burton, Norma Jean Parnell and Joseph Parnell; back row, Jessica and Jaylie Willis, Lee Ann Willis, Terry Partin, Rita Partin with Luke Partin and Macy Partin, David Jones, Chad Parnell, and Karen Partin. The group is participating in a church program to walk collectively and symbolically walk from Jones Chapel to Jerusalem, a distance of 6,337 miles. So far, they've logged some 400 miles. Durham is President of the Columbia Rotary Club, which has wellness as one of its major goals. Walkers and bikers at the Second Sunday event have Indian Drive and Greensburg Road from the schools office building to Paul Mann Road to use today, with motorized travel banned from the streets.
