Letter: Randy Burns excited about Diamond Rio

Good morning Ed,

I thought I would write to say how excited I am that the Down Town Days Festival is sponsoring such a huge event as the Diamond Rio concert next Saturday night! I've seen Diamond Rio twice and they put on an amazing show and I can't wait to see them again.

I even had the chance to meet the band after one of the shows and the members are extremely friendly people which makes it even easier being a fan.

There are so many times that I hear people complain about how "Columbia never has this or that" and that "there is never anything to do in this town."

I think this concert is a huge event for our community and even the surrounding area.

I would like to encourage everyone to have a great time by making it to the concert next Saturday night! $15 for a concert ticket of someone this big in country music is unheard of.

Even if you are not a huge Diamond Rio fan or even a country music fan for that matter, our support of this event will allow the city of Columbia to help sponsor other events such as this in the future. Maybe next year it could even be REO Speedwagon!

Yeah, I know...I'm showing my age.

Have a great weekend and hope to see you all at the concert!

s/Randy Burns
