Horses: KY suspends two Ohio veterinarians Commonwealth News Center story Two veterinarians attending to horses competing at The Red Mile harness track in Lexington were indefinitely suspended today by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) pending the results of an on-going investigation. On Wednesday, two KHRC investigators searched two trucks owned by Rick Mather and Rick Rothfuss, who are partners in a veterinary practice in Columbus, Ohio. The investigators seized records and unidentified substances, said Lisa Underwood, KHRC executive director. The substances will be sent to a laboratory for testing. Richard Williams, KHRC's presiding judge for standardbred racing, imposed the suspension after reviewing the physical evidence. A hearing on the suspension is pending.
