County PRIDE cleanup day is October 18, 2008

Kickoff at 8:00am with rally + doughnuts, juice, and coffee. Volunteers asked to contact CJE's office. Non-profits can earn $50 per mile picking up trash along roadways. Cook out picnic lunch by Country Club, awards and drawings will complete clean up day.

Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton and the Adair County Fiscal Court invite all Adair Countians to participate in the 2008 PRIDE cleanup in Adair County is on Saturday, October 18, 2008.

The schedule is as follows:


  • 8:00amCT: Meet in the basement and/or the back parking lot of the Adair County Annex Building, 424 Public Square, Downtown Columbia, KY.
    • Welcome by Judge Melton
    • Doughnuts, coffee, and juice
    • Each participant will receive a Free T-shirt
    • Vest and trash bags will be issued
    • Volunteer time sheets will be signed with the name of the road that will be picked up entered
  • 11:00amCT: Meet at the Pinewood Country Club Driving Range (Next the the City of Columbia owned lake).
    • Lunch will be provided with Johnny Jones doing the cooking; bring your own lawn chairs.
    • Drawing for prizes.
Judge Melton reminds non-profit groups that they can make extra money picking up trash along roadsides. The pay is $50 per mile. To apply, contact the office of the Adair County Judge Executive at (270) 384-4703, or Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator A.L. Sinclair at (270) 384-3146.
