ACHS Band takes takes 2nd straight Grand Championship! ACHS returns from Glasgow with another impressive array of trophies in 16-band field. Several photos from yesterday will be posted during the day. By Ed Waggener & Shamarie Claiborne It was a night of major victories last night for the Adair County Marching Band in the big 16 band field at the South Central Kentucky Marching Band Classic at Glasgow High School last night, Saturday, September 13, 2008. The big one, the Overall Grand Champion trophy, was the 2009 Macy Parade bound ACHS bands, making it the second straight--in just eight days--for Director Tim Allen's talented musicians. In addition, the ACHS Marching band, whose field commander, Kayce Feese, is in her first year in the role, won the following:
Adair County won Best Band overall last week, September 6, 2008, at the Caverna Marching Band Festival. North Hardin's band was second, overall, to Adair County, taking the Reserved Grand Championship. Adair County alumnus Andy Critz led his Russell County High School Mighty Laker to Second Place in Class AAA2. Other major victories included:
