Lauren captures another tournament victory with a 74 Girls Golf Schedule with team photo ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS ACHS girls golf finishes 3rd and takes home first team trophy With two photos By Kimberly Goodin, ACHS Girls Golf Coach The girls' golf team shot a 347 --- their best team round of the season to finish in 3rd place at the Warren East Invitational. Oldham Co. and Barren Co. finished with a 336 with Oldham breaking the tie with their #5 girl's score. Lauren Goodin shot a 74, Natalie Sneed 88, Emilee Royse 92, Ashley Goodin 93 and Dea Brandon 96. This course did play shorter than any other we have played all year but there were several ways to get in trouble. I hope this will be a confidence builder for us. It seemed as if we played with more focus in this tournament. I told the girls on Thursday that we have to stop talkiing about what we can shoot and go out there a shoot it. Lauren has continued to be solid for us shooting a 4 over par 74, I had told her numerous times she should win this tournament and she did --- so to me that is playing under pressure. Natalie Sneed stepped up and posted a nice score. A better score than any other tournament she played in with the exception of Pulaski Co. She played more focused and intense than I 've seen her all year. Her putting is coming around and she made birdies today. Emilee and Dea shot their best rounds of the year. Emilee finished her round birdie--birdie. Emilee and Dea have been steadily improving all season long so they were due a round like today. Ashley shot below her average but had a tough stretch which bruised her score going 10 over in three holes of play. The girls have a busy two weeks ahead preparing for the regional tournament. We have three matches a week the next two weeks. We need to build from today's tournament and finish strong. This week we play at home on vs. Pulaski County on Monday, September 15, 2008, and Clinton County on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Thursday, September 18, 2008, we travel back to Warren East to play.
