Obituary: Willie Foster, 84, WWII veteran COLUMBIAMAGAZINE.COM OBITUARIES Mr. Foster was the patriarch of a very large, prominent northeast Adair County family. He leaves 75 living descendants . He served in WWII, and was decorated with the Purple Heart and will be accorded military honors by VFW Post 6097. He was a farmer, and a highly respected member of the Bloomington Chapel church, where he was a deacon Willie R. Foster, 84, 6751 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008, at 7:30pmCT at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 2:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Burton, Bro. Ralph Foster, and Bro. Dennis Roberts officiating. He was the son of the late Charlie Buford and Maude Ella Simpson Foster of Adair County, KY. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aline Streeval Foster, Columbia, KY, and the following:
Mr. Foster was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church where he served as a deacon. He was a farmer and veteran of World War II and was decorated with the Purple Heart. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 2:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Burton, Bro. Ralph Foster, and Bro. Dennis Roberts officiating. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery with military honors presented by Columbia VFW Post 6097. The family requests visiting after 3:00pmCT on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
