Obituary: Thelbert Pike, 86

COLUMBIAMAGAZINE.COM OBITUARIES

Mr. Pike was a member of a large, respected northeast Adair County family, a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Church, and a farmer.

Thelbert Pike, 86, of 725 Oak Grove Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 6:43amCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 11:00amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, withBro. Junior Holmes and Bro. Todd Akin the officiating clergy.



He was the son of the late John Leslie and Mae Burton Pike of Adair County, KY.He is survived by the following:
  • Three step-daughters: Josie Dial and her husband William of Greensburg, KY; Joyce Dickson of Arkansas and Delin McQueary and her husband Don of Columbia, KY

  • Two half-brothers: Jasper Pike and his wife Sharon and Herbert Pike of Columbia, KY

  • Three half-sisters: Ruby Willis and her husband Raybun of Petersburg, IL, Reba Clements andher husband Gary of Liberty, KY, and Regina Matthews and her husband Billy of Columbia, KY

  • And several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Sallie Mildred Pike; his wife, Bertha Rush Vincent Pike on Dec. 31, 2006; three sisters, Opal Pike Wright, Allene Pike Fry, and Ruth Pike; three brothers, William Pike, Everett Pike, and Raymond Pike; and one step son, Arthur Vincent.

He was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church and a farmer.

Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, LIberty Road, Columbia, KY.

Visitation after 4:30pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.
